What was just installed
On the "C" drive of your computer you will now find three new folders and a new printer in the devices and printers

PowerRIP Hot folders (Not used yet) Holds internal printer folders that hold application print files sent to the RIP for processing.

In Control Panel/Devices and Printers "PowerRIP Output Print Queues", are installed. Output Queues send Rasterized data from the RIP to the printer on the SAME USB port the EPSON Driver uses.
If you want to pause jobs, until the printer is ready or just until you review the output controls are in program settings. The jobs if paused can be later released from "Pages to Printer"

How to print with DTG RIPPRO v06 Epson Print
Presently the way to print is what we call "Print From the RIP". You simply open an image like a PSD, Tifs, BMPs, jpegs, or pngs. Size and position it, then print directly from the RIP. A transparent background is the best background for any image. The RIP has numerous ways to mask images, black backgrounds, and control the amount of white ink used. Basic settings work without intervention, additional white controls allow a user to get superior results across varied images.
1) Simply Open the RIP and go to the word "File" in the upper left corner and choose "Create Print Job"

RGB has many choices. Default is sRGB. CMYK source's default is SWOP. Output Profile stays Auto Select unless you add a custom ICC Appearance Photo Normal is best. Brightness controls all colors

Artwork tab
First Tab opened when you Import a Graphic. If the image is larger than the selected platen, the RIP will shrink and center the image to fit. Buttons on the artwork tab are easily understood. The Constrain Proportions when checked insures that dragging corner dots will move width and height together.

Printer & Print Area Tab
Displays the Printer, SCF2000 and the Output Queue you are printing through. DTG RIPPRO v06 can print to multiple printers using different Output Queues. Pick the platen size, assign a step and repeat number to activate templates. See explanation of templates/platens in the docs folder. Realize you can create your own custom platen sizes that fit on to the printer. You can gang up multiple platens using our template/platen creation tool allowing you to print two shirts or more items at once.

1. Download and install the Epson driver for your printer, the RIP will later find the port the printer is connected by talking to the Epson driver.
2. Go to our download and "Save" the downloaded version.
3. After the download is finished, allow the installer to run. If it does not auto start go to your download folder and click on it.
4. RUN the download and tell Windows to allow it to RUN if asked.
5. During the install on the validation page, just leave it on "Evaluation" fill in any blank windows and proceed. You can activate it later, if you purchase it.
6. On all other screens accept the RIP's default suggestions.
7. When the installation is finished restart the PC.

Printer and Print Area: Allows you to choose which Epson SCF2000 to use in case you have more than one and which platen to use. There are controls under template to use custom platens other than Epson's or gang multiple images up on the same page.
Print Settings: Allows you to choose the basic Print Media such as Black Cotton, White Cotton, Colored Cotton, and if you want to print with CMY (No Black ink) plus white (3 styles), CMYK plus white (9 Styles), CMYK only (3 styles), White ink only (4 styles), Black ink only 2 styles) The different styles are combinations of 3 color saturations normal, plus 20% and plus 40%, and three very different ways to generate a base white undercoat that brighten more deep colors such blues and reds.
Color Settings: Once you choose your RGB source ICMs you will seldom go here again. The default RGB source is sRGB, which matches your monitor's color space, more saturated blues and reds are made with DGIS rgb, some people like Adobe RGB or use ColorMatch RGB for a softer image. NTSC really pops blues and yellows. The output profile is automatically chosen. Most artwork is RGB so CMYK default set as SWOP has little influence and color appearance Photo Normal is better than vivid for nearly all images.
White Ink Control: After choosing a saturation level and a basic style of white generation under Print Settings. The white being generated is manipulated here. You select what in your image will be used for white generation. There are four basic settings.
1) A transparent background quickly eliminates the background.
2) Choosing white under any colored pixel avoids white under any pure whites with a RGB value of 255,255,255. Great for color artwork if no pure whites in the image.
3) Under base entire image can be used on artwork with a black background. Pixels in the image are submitted for a white value modified by the white controls.
4) Import White from file often used with our export white and color layers. You adjust the white and color layers in the RIP, export them, edit them further by hand in Photoshop or Corel Paint, then reimport them into the RIP.
After you have made your basic selection click "Create" to see the white. All other white controls modify the white layer being created

2) The screen will change, a new screen will appear. Go to the word "File" again on the new screen under file, choose "Import Graphics".
3) You can import a Photoshop PSD file, tiff, jpeg, BMP, or png file. The four corner controls allow you to resize the imported image.
4) Now the tab control panels on the right. 5 tabs control how the job will be processed. You save your custom settings under "Predefined Settings" or edited for each job individually. The settings used for the last job rasterized, are saved for the next job
After your computer restarts check on the permissions assigned to the RIP's internal PowerRIP program
1. Go to the Windows icon and click on it, choose the Computer icon, and double click.
2. A window opens showing the Computer's disk drives, choose local "C" drive, double click and open it.
3. Now find the folder DTGRIPSCF2000, double click, and open it.
4. Find the PowerRIP program icon a blue and yellow "DTG" icon in front of it.
5. Right click on the PowerRIP program icon, choose "Properties" in the drop down.
6. A screen opens with several tabs, choose the "Compatibilty" Tab.
7. We want you to look for the Privilege Level, if you do not see that, look for words like "Run This Program as an Administrator". We want you to check this to allow it. If you see the words"Change Settings for All Users, go there, and then Check Run This Program as an Administrator. Then click Apply, then OK.
